Juliet Murphy Roulhac made history in 2023 when she became the first Black woman to serve as Chair of the Community Foundation of Broward’s Board of Directors. Her groundbreaking influence continues as she returns as our 2024 Board Chair.
As Board Chair, one of Juliet’s priorities is developing a more diverse community of philanthropy in Broward. That includes helping lead the Community Foundation’s efforts to both invest in opportunities to support the Black community and to partner with other local Black philanthropists to support more opportunities to shape a brighter future.
“Philanthropy is an investment in helping our community achieve its full potential — to become a place where everyone has a fair chance to succeed,” Juliet wrote in a 2023 Op-Ed published in the Sun Sentinel. “That’s why I agreed to serve on the Community Foundation’s Board. That’s also why I am a donor who partners with the Community Foundation to make the most of my local philanthropy.”
This year, Juliet continues as Board Chair and she is leading one of the most diverse Board executive teams in the Community Foundation’s nearly 40-year history.
Four of our six 2024 Board leadership posts are held by people of color. Also, women make up the majority of our six-member Board executive team. Our 2024 Board officers include:
