A new collaboration between the Community Foundation of Broward and the City of Lauderhill will create an endowed source of support for community projects and programs that enhance the quality of life for local residents for generations to come.

On Feb. 10, the City Commission agreed to create an endowed charitable fund at the Community Foundation, dedicated to supporting wide-ranging community impact programs. Future grants from the fund could support parks, educational programs, festivals, recreational programs, healthy community initiatives and many other opportunities to help make life better in Lauderhill.

Plans call for the new endowed fund to be seeded with a $50,000 contribution from the city and managed by the careful stewardship of the Community Foundation. The fund’s investment income, along with future community donations, will create a permanent, sustainable source of support for community needs in Lauderhill.

“The Community Foundation of Broward is proud to partner with the City of Lauderhill to create a new source of endowed support that will transform and uplift this community for generations to come,” said Community Foundation President/CEO Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D. “We recognize their vision for future planning to support emerging needs and enhance Lauderhill’s quality of life and dynamic culture.”

Growing Partnerships with Local Communities

The planned endowed fund for the City of Lauderhill is the latest local example of the Community Foundation partnering with local communities to create endowed sources of support. In 2023, a new endowed charitable fund at the Community Foundation established a permanent source of support for philanthropic initiatives in Oakland Park. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE.
