Applying for grants
Grants from the Community Foundation support innovative opportunities to transform lives, champion equity and shape a brighter future for Broward.

Here’s how our grants work

- We offer rolling grants, available throughout the year, for critical focus areas essential to empowering our community to reach its full potential.

Grants PortalSupport for Small and Emerging nonprofits
Small and emerging nonprofits provide critical services to tackle unmet community needs, often in underserved neighborhoods.
Nonprofits with budgets of $150,000 or less can apply for Community Foundation grants to support projects that align with our focus areas. Organizations that don't have 501(c)(3) status must have a Fiscal Sponsor that does have its 501(c)(3) and is in good standing with the Community Foundation to apply for grants.
To help up-and-coming nonprofits succeed, the Community Foundation's Broward Center for Nonprofit Excellence provides:
- Training, mentoring and other resources that empower small and emerging nonprofits to strengthen or expand their critical work.
- In-person and virtual workshops showing first-time grant applicants how to apply for support. Small and emerging nonprofit representatives are highly encouraged to attend.

To address health inequities in South Broward, the Community Foundation is working with a mission-driven coalition of front-line nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and neighborhood leaders.
We launched the South Broward Community Health Hub to cultivate and support opportunities to eliminate food deserts, expand access to healthcare, and improve the overall health of residents.
