The Museum of Discovery and Science is a Broward institution that continues to find new ways to inspire and educate residents about the wonders of our world.
Families watch playful otters dart through the water. Kids create new inventions or go on a dinosaur safari. Seniors enjoy IMAX movies. And who can resist taking a selfie from inside a shark? The Museum of Discovery and Science keeps evolving and growing with exhibits and programs that capture the imagination and spark the desire to learn more.
The Community Foundation of Broward is proud to be a longtime partner with the museum, providing more than $6 million in support during the past two decades thanks to our Fundholders who invest in science and education.
Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Community Foundation President/CEO; Amanda Kah, Charitable Funds Services Director; and Angelical Rosas, Director of Community Impact; recently joined museum President/CEO Joseph Cox and his team for a firsthand look at the latest updates to museum attractions and programing. They also saw the museum’s “STEMobile” vehicle, which takes travel-versions of what the museum has to offer on the road to reach more local residents.
Recent Community Foundation grants support the development of new exhibitions at the museum, outreach to spread the word about all the museum has to offer, educational opportunities for children, transportation to bring seniors to the museum and much, much more.
It’s all made possible by our dedicated Fundholders, who partner with the Community Foundation to create a BOLD impact for the place we call home. Their charitable Funds fuel innovative solutions today and shape a brighter future for us all.
