The Community Foundation of Broward was thrilled to surprise two worthy recipients with $2 million in new grants, made possible by the Mary N. Porter Legacy Fund.
Click here to see a short video of the Community Foundation awarding this transformational support to Henderson Behavioral Health and L.A. Lee YMCA / Mizell Community Center. Instead of awarding just one $1 million grant on “Giving Tuesday,” the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors decided both building projects were worthy of this critical support.
Mary Porter was a dedicated local philanthropist who partnered with the Community Foundation to create an endowed charitable fund – established to ensure that she could always be there to support the community she loved.
This video shows how the Community Foundation carries on Mary’s legacy by identifying innovative opportunities for grants from her endowed fund to shape a brighter future for Broward.
