October 17, 2024
Representatives of the 40 local nonprofits receiving the Community Foundation of Broward's "40 for 40: Spread the Love" grants celebrate the $400,000 in support they will share on community projects that will help make life better in Broward.

The Community Foundation of Broward is proud to announce the winners of its new “40 for 40: Spread the Love Grants.” To commemorate its 40th anniversary, the Community Foundation is awarding $400,000 total to help 40 nonprofits make a BOLD impact and shape a brighter future for Broward.

After a rigorous application process of over 200 applicants, President/CEO Jennifer O'Flannery Anderson, Ph.D., presented the “40 for 40: Spread the Love Grants” to the 40 selected nonprofits at a ceremony at the Community Foundation office on Thursday, Oct. 17. The new grants – $10,000 each – will support 40 innovative, impactful opportunities for nonprofits to help the community by investing in projects and initiatives that make life better in Broward. The campaign is another way for the Community Foundation to say “thank you” to the community that, for 40 years, has embraced its mission to champion local philanthropy that shapes a brighter future for Broward.

Some of the plans for the "40 for 40: Spread the Love Grants" include feeding people in need, programs encouraging children to read, health screenings, support for seniors, environmental cleanups, arts projects and much more!

“We are proud to celebrate our 40th anniversary with this creative grant initiative that will make a real difference across this community we love,” Jennifer O'Flannery Anderson said. “Each of these nonprofits’ creative ideas incorporate the number 40 while staying true to their mission and benefitting the community. We are excited to see how they use this opportunity to make a BOLD impact in Broward, in honor of the Community Foundation’s 40th Anniversary.”
