Tuesday Nov. 30 is “Giving Tuesday,” which encourages year-end giving to charitable organizations in South Florida and across the world.
Giving Tuesday falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Similar to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which have become popular celebrations of consumer culture, Giving Tuesday champions providing support for charitable organizations that do so much to make our community and our world a better place.
For the past decade, the nonprofit organization “Giving Tuesday” has led this movement to grow global generosity and “unleash the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.”

“The end of every year brings a significant increase in financial contributions and the establishment of new charitable funds at Community Foundation of Broward,” said Community Foundation of Broward President/CEO Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D. “It’s a time when many people want to reach out and help others, at the same time they want to make smart decisions about their year-end tax status.”
