The Community Foundation of Broward’s 2022 Community Builder Celebration honored the philanthropists who partner with us to create endowed charitable funds of $1 million or more.
This year we welcomed a record nine new Community Builders with a movie-star-themed party, held Nov. 1 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. The festive “Stars of Broward” extravaganza included delicious food, beautiful beachfront views and a surprise performance by the Dillard High School marching band.
Our newest Community Builders include: Mona Pittenger, Steve and Madelaine Halmos, Anita and Ralph Byer, Jean and David Colker, Donald and Patricia Collins, The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation, Pat Owen, Barry and Judy Silverman, and Leo and Alice Rutten.
The Community Foundation’s 52 total Community Builders include generous individuals, families and community organizations who partner with us to fuel innovation and tackle Broward’s big challenges. Grants from Community Builders’ endowed charitable funds create a BOLD impact today and, through our careful stewardship, will continue to make life better in Broward for generations to come.
“Thanks to the bold commitment of our Community Builders, we can provide forever support for hardworking families, for the arts, for isolated seniors, for the environment and for all the things that we don’t even know will come to surface in the future,” said Community Foundation President/CEO Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D.
