Anita and Ralph Byer share a belief that the blessings of success come with an obligation to help others. They put their belief into action with philanthropy that supports opportunities to make life better in Broward for those who have been less fortunate.

Ralph, a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, and Anita, CEO and Principal Shareholder of Setnor Byer Insurance and Risk, have long prioritized getting involved and giving back to help the community where they've built their successes and raised their children, Stephanie and Gregory. Ralph and Anita's dedicated leadership and support for Legal Aid Services of Broward County, JAFCO, the Museum of Discovery and Science and the Sheriff's Foundation Fund to support fallen heroes are examples of how their philanthropy transforms lives in Broward.

JAFCO, which helps children who have faced abuse, disabilities or other challenges, holds a special place in their hearts. Anita and Ralph cherish the memories from their

time spent as foster parents to two boys in need of a home, which allowed them to extend their charitable instincts to the giving of their heart and time. They remain committed to championing JAFCO and other nonprofit organizations that provide critical support for children who need love, hope, opportunity and a safe place to explore their world.

Now, Anita and Ralph are partnering with the Community Foundation of Broward to amplify their impact for the community they love. By creating the endowed Setnor Byer Family Charitable Fund, the Byers have established a permanent, sustainable source of support for local at-risk youth, fallen heroes, civic and cultural education for the young and other causes that provide services to help foster opportunity, independence and tolerance for the marginalized.

With the Community Foundation's expert team to find innovative ways to fulfill the mission of their fund, Anita and Ralph are confident that their efforts and successes will create maximum opportunity and a lasting difference for those who need it most.
