Staying Safe In The Water: Broward Swimming Lesson Opportunities

May 27, 2021
Sea Cadets hit the pools for swim training in Fort Lauderdale.

Last year, 68 children in Florida died from accidental drowning. We can avoid more heartbreaking tragedies by teaching our children how to stay safe in the water.

Swimming lessons provide life-saving skills that all children should have – especially children in our community who grow up surrounded by pools and waterways.

Broward County helps offset swimming lesson costs, thanks to a partnership with the Children’s Services Council and others who are dedicated to teaching more children to swim. You can go online to www.watersmartbroward.org and click “swim coupon” for a $40 coupon toward lessons for children four and younger.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County and YMCA of South Florida are two great community organizations that have long helped teach children to swim. Click here to learn about swimming lessons available through the Boys & Girls Clubs and click here to learn about swimming lessons at the YMCA.

Please help make this our safest summer ever by spreading the word about the opportunities for swimming lessons in Broward.
