The Foundation seeks to make Broward known for its innovative cancer research and to become a hub for ideas and collaborative cancer research. We want to enable accessibility to revolutionary discoveries in cancer therapy and provide support systems for all Broward cancer patients.
1. Cancer Research Application: A successful cancer research project focuses on clinical trials phase I, II and/or III. (Phase III is preferred and will receive priority consideration). To produce new,innovative and breakthrough cancer treatments that are well-designed and utilize randomized clinical trials critical to improving cancer care that demonstrate the following measurable outcomes:
Of note, the Foundation will NOT consider cancer research projects that are focused on animal subjects. All projects must involve human cancer patients.
2. Support Services for Cancer Patients Application: A successful support services project will deliver the appropriate scope and depth of services to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and demonstrate measurable outcomes in one or both areas as follows:
The Community Foundation is creating a new grant application process that aligns with the six leadership and grantmaking focus areas identified in our new strategic plan.
Information about our new grantmaking process will be posted on our website soon.
Nonprofits with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status to provide services to Broward County. City or county agencies with projects that demonstrate charitable intent in Broward County. Individuals are not eligible to apply. Previous or current grantee organizations must be in good standing with the Foundation and have submitted all required reports and documentation for all prior grants per the grant agreement. A current grantee must be in compliance with the terms of those awards to be considered and eligible to apply.
The Foundation will not provide support to organizations which, in their constitution or practice, discriminate against a person or group on the basis of: age, political affiliation, race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, religious belief, ethnicity, or national origin.
