Community Foundation events are fun opportunities for our Fundholders, Legacy Society members and more to connect, learn and engage with the community we love. We celebrate dedicated philanthropists, showcase what our vibrant community has to offer and shine a light on opportunities to shape a brighter future for us all.
“Food for Thought” events
Throughout the year, “Food for Thought” gatherings enable our Fundholders, Legacy Society Members and community partners to share a meal and learn more about Broward’s big issues as well as the work of the Community Foundation. We take fun field trips and host compelling presentations that offer a behind-the-scenes peek at how philanthropy makes life better in Broward.

Community Builder celebrations
Our annual Community Builder celebration honors the visionary philanthropists who partner with the Community Foundation to create endowed charitable funds of $1 million or more to shape a brighter future for Broward. These celebrations recognize our newest Community Builders and showcase how Community Builders’ endowed support makes life better in Broward.
Legacy Society celebrations
Our annual Legacy Society luncheons celebrate the forward-thinking philanthropists who, through their estate plans, create endowed community support that lasts forever. These celebrations honor Legacy Society members for their visionary commitments and showcase ways that estate gifts to the Community Foundation shape a brighter future for Broward.
Workshops, convenings & visits
We host workshops and convenings that bring together local leaders, nonprofits and philanthropists to learn more about local challenges and innovative opportunities to support positive change. We also organize visits that provide a behind-the-scenes look at local philanthropy’s impact in action.
