The Broward Center for the Performing Arts
Porter Legacy Begins
The Broward Center for the Performing Arts has received a $1 million grant from the Mary N. Porter Legacy Fund of the Community Foundation to aid in a 36,500 sq. ft. campus expansion that will integrate new technologies and increase education, dining and entertainment facilities. The grant creates a permanent legacy for the Porter name and generates a $1 million match.

Plaque Presentation Honors 20th Community Builder
A new Community Builder plaque was unveiled at the Foundation on April 30, 2013, honoring Alvin and Gloria Ross’ gift of $1.6 million to improve the quality of life of people suffering from dementia. Community Builders are philanthropists who have endowed a Fund at the Foundation with one million dollars or more. Read

at the Broward Center of Performing on March 28th.The event honored Society members who have used their estate plans to build or add to endowed charitable Funds at the Community Foundation.
