Adeline M. and Francis A. Sines
As an aide to Department of State officials at the height of the Cold War, Adeline (Del) Sines witnessed the negotiation of historic nuclear arms treaties. It was the highlight of her working career, but it was philanthropy that was the highlight of her life.
When Del and her husband Dr. Francis A. Sines retired, they traveled extensively until moving to Florida. Del believed their travel made them more aware of the needs of others. When Francis passed away, Del opened the Francis A. and Adeline M. Sines Memorial Fund of the Community Foundation of Broward to honor him.
Always hungry to learn more about Broward’s challenges and solutions that could address them, Del religiously attended Foundation education sessions and site visits. For almost a decade she relied on the Foundation to help her make impactful grants and to introduce her to causes and nonprofits she “never even knew existed.” The joy of this powerful philanthropy prompted Del to work with the Foundation to plan her greatest gift through her estate.
Now that Del has passed, the Foundation is honored to continue her legacy of giving ... For Good. For Ever.
