Estate gifts that include a Testamentary Fund Agreement
Collaborating with the Community Foundation to create a Testamentary Fund Agreement clarifies your client’s intentions for how their estate gift should be used. We work with you and your client to create a philanthropy plan that reflects their values, passions and goals. A Testamentary Fund Agreement also gives your client the flexibility to make changes to their philanthropy plan without having to amend their will, trust or other beneficiary designations.

Estate gifts that don't include a Testamentary Fund Agreement
Your client can leave an estate gift to the Foundation without creating a Testamentary Fund Agreement. In those instances, it’s important that their will, trust or other beneficiary designation clarifies the amount of an estate gift, the type of assets involved and, if applicable, the name of the charitable Fund at the Community Foundation being created or added to by the gift.

Estate gifts of less than $25,000
Your client can support philanthropy through the Foundation without meeting the $25,000 threshold to create their own charitable Fund. They can do that by leaving an estate gift to the Foundation that will be added to an existing charitable Fund, dedicated to helping shape a better future for Broward.

Benefits of Disclosing Estate Gifts
When your client discloses their plan to make an estate gift to the Community Foundation, it enables us to recognize them as part of our Legacy Society. They are invited to Foundation events where they can learn more about how their philanthropy will tackle Broward’s big challenges. They get to enjoy the benefits of being a part of Broward’s philanthropic community.

Requests for estate gifts to remain anonymous are always honored. Your client can remain anonymous even if they choose to participate in Foundation events.
