Three Broward Philanthropic Organizations Join Forces to Host 12th Annual Joint Tax & Estate Planning Seminar

October 23, 2013

DAVIE, FL – (October 23rd, 2013) – More than 700 professionals involved in estate and trust planning - a record-breaking crowd - attended the 12th Annual Joint Tax & Estate Planning Seminar on Wednesday, October 23th 2013, at Nova Southeastern University’s Rose and Alfred Miniaci Theater.
The Community Foundation of Broward, the Jewish Community Foundation and the United Way of Broward County joined forces again this year to host the event which draws professionals from Palm Beach to Miami-Dade counties.  The mission of the seminar is to encourage the professionals who attend to have conversations with their clients about building a better community for their families and future generations by including these organizations in their estate plans.
The keynote speaker was Bernard A. Krooks, Esq., founding partner at Littman Krooks, who presented Planning For an Aging Population – Your Clients, Your Parents and Someday You!  Mr. Krooks is a nationally-recognized expert in elder law, past President of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and is listed in the Best Lawyers in America.
“More people are living longer than ever before. This means the issue of long term care isn’t going away, and the need for people to have a plan for the physical, emotional and financial burdens is essential to estate planning.” says Mr. Krooks.
The seminar’s co-chairs were Christine L. Lambertus, Esq., of Lambertus & Lambertus representing the Community Foundation of Broward, Alan B. Cohn, Esq., of Greenspoon Marder representing the Jewish Community Foundation and Peter Andersen, MBA, of United Capital representing United Way of Broward County.

“The Community Foundation of Broward, Jewish Community Foundation of Broward County, and United Way of Broward County have joined together to sponsor this event for the past 12 years because they understand that it is only by working together that we can make this a better community…. Each of these organizations can help each of us to become even bigger heroes to our clients by helping them to grow from economic success to lasting significance.” says Alan B. Cohn, Esq., of Greenspoon Marder.

“We have established a great tradition for the community with joint tax seminar.” says Peter Anderson, MBA, of United Capital. “Bringing together our best financial and legal professionals to learn and network provides a premier experience.” he adds.
“Such unique, high-value community partnerships of philanthropic organizations and professional advisors are vital to establishing long term philanthropic values for the well-being of our community.” says Christy Lambertus, of Lambertus & Lambertus.
The seminar is sponsored by gold sponsors BB&T and New York Life Insurance.
