Foundation Welcomes New Board Chair and Members

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – (March 2, 2016) – Community Foundation of Broward has announced the appointment of a new Board chairman and four new Board members. New chairman, William A. Snyder, Esq. of Snyder and Snyder P.A. is joined by Doria M. Camaraza, Senior Vice President and General Manager for the American Express Service Centers in Fort Lauderdale, Mexico and Argentina; James Donnelly, Founder and CEO of the Castle Group; Alice Lucia Jackson, former Senior Vice President at Jones Lang LaSalle; and John Offerdahl, Founder of Offerdahl’s Café Grill and former All-Pro linebacker for the Miami Dolphins. 
 
New Board chairman, William A. Snyder has served on the Board of the Community Foundation for four years. He is the founder of the law firm of Snyder & Snyder, P.A., and is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Miami Law School Graduate Program.  He was recognized by Worth magazine as one of the “Top 100 Attorneys” in the United States, and has been listed in Florida SuperLawyers® and The Best Lawyers in America® in Trusts and Estates.

Doria M. Camaraza is Senior Vice President and General Manager for the American Express Service Centers in Fort Lauderdale, Mexico and Argentina.  Doria is also responsible for awarding American Express Foundation philanthropic grants in South Florida. Doria has been recognized as an Ultimate CEO and one of the top 25 Most Influential Women in Business by the South Florida Business Journal. She is a past chair of The Urban League of Broward County and a Broward Workshop board member.
 

James Donnelly is Founder and CEO of the Castle Group. He is a CPA, investor, serial entrepreneur, and philanthropist, currently invested in and advising four start-up companies. A member of the Young Presidents Organization since 1998, he is past Chair of its Southern US Region. An Ernst & Young’s Florida Entrepreneur of the Year finalist, James is a South Florida Business Journal Ultimate CEO. In 2014 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Nova Southeastern University’s H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship. James is on the Executive Board of Broward Workshop, the Membership Committee of the World Presidents Organization, and the Board of Advisors of the LeMieux Center for Public Policy.
 

Alice Lucia Jackson is a former Senior Vice President at Jones Lang LaSalle, a real estate company where she oversaw agency leasing, tenant representation for national and regional clients and business development in Broward and Palm Beach. Alice was NAIOP Office Broker of the Year 2009 and a CoStar Power Broker 2006-2013.  She is a Leadership Broward class XIII graduate and a board member of Jack and Jill Children’s Center and Cleveland Clinic of Florida Board of Expansion. Alice is a former Friends of WLRN board member.
 

John Offerdahl operates seven Offerdahl’s Café Grill restaurants. He founded Offerdahl’s Bagel Gourmet before it merged into Einstein Bros. Bagels. John served on Einsteins’ Board of Directors until 1997. From 1986 to 1994, John was a 5x All-Pro middle linebacker for the Miami Dolphins. He was the NFL’s Rookie of the Year in 1986 and was awarded the Nat Moore Community Service Award.  John was on the National Christian Foundation of South Florida board and hosts the annual Gridiron Grill-Off Food & Wine event which raises money for Offerdahl’s Hand-Off Foundation. He is a Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association board member.
