Cities across Broward County are looking for ways to keep retired baby boomers active in the community.
Pembroke Pines, Cooper City and five other cities have received grants from the nonprofit Community Foundation of Broward to utilize the professional skills of the county's estimated 250,000 boomers under the Re-engage for Good banner.
"We want to get newly retired individuals involved in the community in meaningful ways," said Lindsey Linzer, the foundation's program manager. "This is not about these folks coming in and stuffing envelopes." Read more...
