Food for Thought guests included Fundholders and Legacy Society members who support the Foundation.

Community Foundation of Broward's Food for Thought guests were amazed by an exclusive behind the scenes look at Broward’s centennial celebration finale, the Broadway-style extravaganza, "WE"...The Passion & Rhythm of the People

Fellow philanthropists, Fundholders and Legacy Society members were whisked away for a limosine bus ride to the hidden gem of Pompano Beach, the internationally acclaimed Cirque Dreams studio of Broadway Director, Neil Goldberg.

Guests were welcomed by a grand red carpet upon arrival along with costumed performers, acrobats and musicians. Visitors toured the vibrant costume shop, got a first-hand look at the production's elaborate costumes and make-up process before a series of performances from the "WE" cast with introductions from Neil Goldberg.

Art of Community supporters, Susan and Wil Greaton"...We were so moved by the experience and the high expectations set for the production. We sent out emails last night to many Broward/Dade friends to encourage them to attend the show." said Jim LaBate, Fundholder and Legacy Society member.

The Foundation's annual Food for Thought experiences explore community issues, give philanthropists a chance to meet and mingle and provide exclusive behind the look at the Foundation's projects.  The sneak-peek event was made possible because of the Foundation’s central role in the yearlong Broward centennial celebration, Broward 100: Celebrating the Art of Community.

Through the Art of Community initiative, Fundholders helped the Foundation distribute $1.4 million in grants to support programs that use the universal “language” of art to bridge, bond and build disparate communities. More Photos.

The Foundation is now searching for art-based projects that will spark new collaborations and promote civic-engagement in Broward County for 2016. Applicants are encouraged to propose projects that will bring diverse residents together through the use the arts to address community issues. An information session event will be hosted on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 2:30-4:30pm, click here to register. Application deadline is November 24, 2016.
